The South Korean U17 soccer team’s hopes of reaching the quarterfinals have been dashed after three group games.
The South Korean national soccer team, led by Byun Sung-hwan, lost 1-2 to Burkina Faso in their final Group E match of the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup on Monday at the Harupat Stadium in Bandung, Indonesia.
Having already lost to the United States and France, South Korea was hoping to defeat Burkina Faso to advance to the round of 16, but all 16 teams had already been decided before the match.
However, the result of losing all three games is quite disappointing.
After a stellar performance in the first match against the United States, Korea lost again in France after a disappointing performance that exposed one passing mistake after another and defensive weakness after defensive weakness, and ultimately went home without a single point. 캡틴토토
Kim Myung-joon equalized for South Korea in the fourth minute of the second half after trailing 0-1, but they conceded the winning goal in the 41st minute and hung their heads in shame.
The Korean team certainly had a number of outstanding individual performances, but the team’s lack of timely passes and a series of individual plays left much to be desired, and they ended up finishing at the bottom of the group.
