‘No. 1 special naturalization’ Professor In Yo-han appointed as Chairma

In Yo-han (64), a professor at Yonsei University School of Medicine, was appointed as the chairman of the People Power Innovation Committee.

The appointment of the Innovation Committee Chairman was made 11 days after Representative Kim Ki-hyun announced the launch of a party reform organization the day after his defeat in the October 11 by-election for the head of Gangseo-gu in Seoul.

Professor In, the great-grandson of Eugene Bell, a missionary from the United States in the 19th century, was recognized for his contributions to Korea in 2012 and became the first person to receive special naturalization.

Professor In’s family has been carrying out educational and medical activities in Korea for his fourth generation.

Professor In, who was born in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, served as vice chairman of the National Unification Committee in President-elect Park Geun-hye’s transition committee in 2012, and has recently been mentioned as a candidate for recruitment to the People Power Party in the general election.

In a recent media interview, Professor In said of Korean politics, “Aren’t they just making nonsense of Jeolla-do?” and “If I were to go into politics, I would like to make the Jeolla-do president through the People Power Party.”
