Choi Gyeong-ju, who returned as a host after 4 months, said, “A good course with a difference! The greens are Masters level~”

“It’s a great course with distinction. The greens are as fast as Augusta National.”

Kyung-Joo Choi, who is on his first outing on the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour in four months, gave a thumbs up to the course setting, which is as good as that of the PGA Tour.

Choi Gyeong-ju attended the official press conference for the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Gyeong-ju Invitational (total prize money of 1.25 billion won) held at the Ferrum Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do on the 4th.

Choi Gyeong-ju himself participated as a host for this competition, and he has a special affection for it. Because the PGA Tour and Senior Tour were not held due to the Ryder Cup, he visited his home country early to help prepare for the tournament.

Choi Kyung-ju met fans from his home country at the SK Telecom opening last May. At the time, he tied for 19th place and received a lot of applause.

Attending the press conference on this day were Jo Woo-young and Jang Yu-bin, who won gold medals in the men’s golf team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Both of them are participating in this tournament for the first time as professionals.

First, Kyung-Joo Choi congratulated the two players. He said, “I would like to congratulate the two athletes who won the gold medal. I have nothing to advise them because they are doing well right now, but I hope they will be patient and wait well. If they are patient and continue to improve in the future, I think there will be good results.” .

The course was full of praise. Choi Gyeong-ju said, “After playing a practice round, I felt that the course could be set up like this in Korea,” and “The rough length, fairway width, and green speed were set very well and with great안전놀이터 differentiation.

Choi Kyung-ju is participating in this competition for the 11th time. Among them, he won two times. However, it failed to exceed the cut standard for two consecutive years in 2021 and last year.

Choi Gyeong-ju said, “If the shot goes off the fairway, it is difficult to attack the green. I will try to get the tee shot into the fairway somehow and compete well for four days. First of all, my goal is to pass the cut.”

Jo Woo-young and Jang Yu-bin expressed their thoughts about her professional debut with the expression ‘honor.’ He also did not forget his respect for Choi Gyeong-ju, the eldest brother of Korean men’s golf.

Jo Woo-young, who is about to make his professional debut, said, “Winning the championship is not difficult because I have done it before. My goal is to finish without injury this year,” and pledged, “I will become a responsible professional player in the future.”

Jang Yu-bin said, “I have a strong desire to play well, but the thought of learning comes first. I will try to achieve good results as a professional while thinking about what I learned through my experience as an amateur.”

Meanwhile, Choi Gyeong-ju will start the first round at 12 noon on the 5th with the previous iMBanK Open winner Heo In-hoe and defending champion Lee Hyeong-jun.

Wooyoung Jo and Yubin Jang will take their first tee shots at 11:50 a.m. in the same group as Go Guntaek, who won three Korean Tour games this season.
