A man in his 20s was caught by the police after안전놀이터 going to the school he graduated from with a weapon out of revenge against a teacher who disciplined him in the past.

Gangdong Police Station in Seoul is investigating A, a man in his 20s, on charges of trespassing into a building.

Mr. A is accused of going to a high school in Gangdong-gu, Seoul around 12:50 pm yesterday (12th) with a weapon and causing a disturbance.

Mr. A, who entered the back gate of the school while riding a bicycle, swore at the ‘school safety guard’ who stopped him, and reportedly caused a disturbance by calling the name of a teacher who taught him in the past.

When other teachers heard the sound and came out, Mr. A ran away from the scene.

The police dispatched after receiving the report arrested Mr. A near the school through CCTV tracking.

At the time of arrest, ‘Vise pliers’, a type of tool, were found in Mr. A’s bag.

In a police investigation, Mr. A stated to the effect that “he planned the crime out of revenge against the teacher who disciplined him for smoking in the past.”

A police official said, “Mr. A is suffering from mental illness,” and “Considering that he did not actually wield a weapon, we plan to hospitalize him with the consent of his guardian.”
